Stupidity or Malice?

QuestionPoliticians have a choice; as a point of fact, the answers are provided to the question; all you have to do is choose between option A: Stupidity and option B: Malice.  Consider the questions facing you, dear reader.  How do I pay for fuel to get to work and back?  How do I pay for food?  How do I afford to pay my tax bill?  How do I make my bills this month since the prices of everything have skyrocketed?

With the US President, his staff, and his executive office vassals, flunkeys, and lackeys, all spouting lies, hyperbole, and horse manure, we must have these people choose their answer to the question, “Why are you creating these problems?”  The answer is either “I am stupid,” willfully making decisions through ignorance, which would mean they are woefully unqualified for the jobs they hold and need immediate replacement.  Or, the answer is, “I am full of malice, contempt, and possess an utter disregard for the pain and suffering I am causing,” which would mean they need to be charged, arrested, and held over in prison until their day in front of a judge.

There is no third option anymore.  From the mayor’s office to the president’s office, the politicians have decided they have rights, liberties, and powers that we, the voters, never gave them.  Under the US Constitution, we are the final arbiter of the politicians’ powers and authorities.  Thank whatever gods may be for the US Constitution, for without the US Constitution and various state constitutions, we would be in a spot worse than Canada!Canada Cuba Crossed Pin | Crossed Flag Pin | Friendship Pin

Speaking of Canada for a minute, do you remember the #FreedomConvoy from February?  You know, those hard-working truck drivers hailed as hero’s only as long as they toed Trudeau’s line.  The same truckers he arbitrarily threw in jail stole their money, ruining businesses and people using the law meant for terrorism against law-abiding citizens who were fit to be tied with the COVID-hysteria and COVID-Kabuki.  Canada is headed for living conditions and lifestyles more akin to Venezuela and Cuba than a first-world nation, all because their laws do not have a legal system in place for recalling a prime minister.  Tell me again how bad it is to live in the United States, the globe’s only constitutional republic.

Let’s ask Putin, and for the fun of it, Zelensky, was it stupidity or malice that began this Ukraine crisis?  What was Ukraine doing investing so much money in Biden’s family through Hunter?  How’s that investment working out for you?  Putin, with your entire economy in ruins, how’s that invasion working out for you?

Speaking of Putin, Biden, Pelosi, Clinton, and many others raises an interesting thought.  You all appear rich enough; have you forgotten that wealth is transitory, ephemeral, and quickly lost out of stupidity or malice?  I am betting it was stupidity!  No one maliciously acts in a way to chop off their legs, arms, and hands to spite the body’s need for these appendages.  This is precisely what you have done in denigrating, deriding, and abusing those who originally put you in power, allowing you to accumulate the riches you have.

Apparently, Putin forgot the lessons of the Czar’s that led to the birth and eventual death of the USSR.  Talk about history repeating itself!  The same reasons that killed the reign of the Czar and the USSR are the same that is threatening Russia right now.  Stupidity or malice!  America, will you please wake up to the problem you are facing?  The stupidity or malice in your political leaders is causing pain, suffering, and real-world ramifications for every single country on Earth!

Don’t take my word for it.  Do some research and look at how inflation in America is killing economies across Africa and Asia.  Do some research and look at the instability of the US Dollar as the world’s currency and see how this is destroying people’s dreams the world over.  Do a little research and look at how the US Dollar not being the currency for oil and gold will affect, and essentially destroy, these tradeable goods for the benefit of tyrants, thugs, and criminal organizations.  Would you like to know what having China’s Yuan or Renminbi as the currency for gold or oil look no further than the wasted lands of northern Mexico?  The gangs and criminal organizations have “disappeared” (murdered, killed, destroyed) hundreds of thousands of people, the majority of whom are innocent bystanders.215 bodies found in Mexico mass graves-488829

I heard an estimate of how many people have been disappeared by the cartel in northern Mexico; the number was based on how many mass graves have been found, how many there might be that need-finding, and the growing number of people per mass grave.  The numbers bandied are horrifying, but the numbers are barely even a hundredth part of the pain, suffering, and cost of America’s illegal alien and drug problem.  Then consider how Biden’s lackeys have been using the dead of night, the power of bureaucratic inertia, and a complicit media to hide how many aliens have been transported from the border and infiltrated into America’s communities.  Stupidity or malice never seems to stretch far enough on this single issue, especially when we add the prevalent human smuggling, the indentured servitude and slavery, the child abuse, and so much more into the equation.

Stupidity, willful or not, and malice are the terms we need to use.  Consider the wisdom of Cipolla, who wrote the “5-Rules of Stupidity.”  “Some stupid people usually cause only limited damages, but there’re others that cause terrible damage, not just to one or two individuals, but to communities or entire societies.  The ability of a stupid person to hurt others depends on the […] position of power or authority he occupies in the society.”  Clearly, we need to revisit the words of this Italian economist, for there are some truly stupid people in power.  If interested, Carlo M. Cipolla wrote “The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity,” available in hardcover and Kindle from Amazon.

When I first read the works of Cipolla, I thought the following was merely restating the obvious.  “There are people who, with their unlikely actions, not only cause harm to other people but also to themselves.  These people belong to the superstupid genre.”  However, after experiencing the Biden administration, I fully appreciate a real need for superstupid people to possess their own genre.  Consider for a moment, Biden has spent his entire life in the political arena, he has failed due to his own duplicity and plagiarism to win the presidency, and the president he served under as vice president said he was inadequate to the office of president.  Should we not have placed him in his own genre of superstupid?

Knowledge Check!Nick Diamos is quoted as saying, “Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity.”  Eric Hoffer is quoted as saying, “There is probably an element of malice in our readiness to overestimate people – we are, as it were, laying up for ourselves the pleasure of later cutting them down to size.”  When applied as operational principles to the political class currently in power, I cannot decide which might be more correct.  I do know that the politicians need to answer the question posed so we, the citizenry, can answer the questions we face.

SCOTUS – The Abortion Decision: Awake Society!

Exclamation MarkI have written about abortion previously.  I have discussed the problems with legislating from the bench and the societal issues when judges take powers unto themselves.  Today, the media is in shock and awe over the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) making an abortion decision not to strike down a law in Texas.  Would it shock and dismay anyone if I explained that SCOTUS still got the decision wrong?  From the pen of Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, we find why the current SCOTUS got the latest decision wrong.

The law is the witness and external deposit of our moral life. Its history is the history of the moral development of the race.” ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

The ultimate good desired is better reached by free trade in ideas [and] the best test of truth is the power of the thought to get itself accepted in the competition of the market.” ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

The history of abortion on demand is fraught with legislative attempts that were superseded by judicial activism.  By judges acting to legislate from the bench and cram new moral authority into American law, without the consent of the governed, problems in governance arose.  The most egregious problem is the dependence upon judges to solve legitimate legislative issues, and therein lay both the destruction and the solution to the current dilemmas of American society.

What are moral issues?

A person smoking is a moral issue, not a legal issue.  Abortion is a moral issue, not a legal issue.  Moral issues deal solely with how a person chooses to live their lives, regardless of how another person thinks they should live their lives.  Drunk driving is a legal issue as it places other members of society in danger when an intoxicated person operates a vehicle impaired.  But, drinking is a moral issue, provided that person is of social/legal age to drink.  Is the distinction clear?  Provided the exercise of a person’s moral choices does not interfere with another person’s ability to pursue life, liberty, and happiness.  The moral decisions of the first individual do not become legal issues of the second person.The Duty of Americans

The feminists of the day wanted to control women’s bodies and control how often men had sex with women.  This was part of a larger social trend to see women gain more rights and privileges in society, a moral issue.  The feminists used friendly judges to chip away at the social fabric until they obtained a legal decision that allowed for abortion on demand.  Fundamentally, the decisions of the feminists to exert control of mass populations of females was a violation of those females’ moral agency as many of them did not join the feminists’ associations before becoming influenced by the consequences of the decisions made in the name of females everywhere.

Social Change Needed

The separation of moral agency and legal rights is thin but distinct; unfortunately, the line has become blurred through social influencing, social media, and judicial activism.  Society has fallen into helicopter parenting, and the courtroom has become both the parent and the potential gold mine.  Find the right case, find a friendly judge, and take the current case to the media to inflame a population and try the case socially before the case is conducted legally.  The other side barely stands a chance anymore.  Even if you lose the case in court, you win socially, which changes minds and hearts, leading to more changes to laws, just a smaller payday.Gavel

As a kid, if you took a decision to a parent and the first one told you no.  Then you went to another parent for a second opinion; how much trouble were you in?  In my family, you got punished by both parents, twice the beating for the same decision.  My buddy, his parents were getting a divorce; he used this tactic to the fullest all the time as a weapon against his parents, as his parents used him (only child) as a weapon against each other.  Only later did I fully appreciate the horror and tragedy my buddy was in during this time in his life.  Worse, it has only been in the last couple of decades that I have realized how terrible this lesson has been for all of American society and what it has done to our courts and legal system.

The Opportunity

Freedom means being responsible for our own actions and their consequences.  Our moral agency allows us the power to act and puts us in the driver’s seat to control our choices in our lives.  But, we do not get to pick the consequences, when the consequences land, or the severity of the consequences.  We can only control what we do with our choices.  I prefer to have unfettered freedom than nanny-state control.  Who controls the government in a nanny-state?  Honestly, look to Cuba, China, Venezuela, the USSR, and ask who controls the nanny-state, as they strive to control every aspect of you?Behavior-Change

In representative governments, we, the people, are responsible and control the government.  We cannot abdicate this responsibility, and the government cannot seize power without our consent.  Herein lays our golden ticket to the chocolate factory; their bounds are set, ours are not!  The government can only go as far as we declare they can.  After leaving American citizens to the ravages of the Taliban in Afghanistan, polluting our shores with an unsecured southern border, and all the other crises we are dealing with, it is time we started restricting the government of consent.

SCOTUS’ decision was still wrong because they should never have issued a decision in the first place.  The decision SCOTUS should have given should have been a single sentence, “Abortion is a moral issue, not a legal issue, and we are removing the courts from this issue and returning it to the legislative bodies of the United States for further decisioning.”  With that single sentence, all legal proceedings, legal determinations, and laws on abortion would have been halted, awaiting a legislative determination.  Then, and only then, would a great injustice have been legally righted in America and the 50 individual states’ legislative bodies being empowered to choose as their citizens saw fit.

Knowledge Check!SCOTUS could then do the same for same-sex marriage and every other moral issue they have legislated from the bench over the last 200 years.  This leads to a dramatic change in and correction of the judicial branch and honoring the legislative and executive branches of government.  When judicial activism ends, people understand that liberty is more precious than gold and silver and then live their lives according to the dictates of their own consciousness, leaving others to do likewise.  Our opportunity is to return to this manner of legal system, seize this golden ticket and return to sanity in freedom!

NO MORE BS: Revisiting Dane-Geld – Recognizing a Problem

Dane-GeldDane-Geld was “a land tax levied in medieval England, originally to raise funds for protection against Danish invaders.”  The 11th Century saw many frightened landowners who wanted peace, who then raised money to pay-off the north’s warring tribes, called Danes.  From across the land, the rulers gathered penny and pound to buy protection from these warring tribes.  When the Dane’s saw how easy it was to obtain gold, they moved in and took the lands, and whole civilizations dropped into barbarianism.  The only reason we know these stories today was that the warring tribes of the Dane’s met cold steel in a furious fist and were beaten back.

Rudyard Kipling wrote a poem on this topic, called coincidentally enough, “Dane-Geld.”

“It is always a temptation to an armed and agile nation
To call upon a neighbour and to say: —
“We invaded you last night–we are quite prepared to fight,
Unless you pay us cash to go away.”

And that is called asking for Dane-geld,
And the people who ask it explain
That you’ve only to pay ’em the Dane-geld
And then you’ll get rid of the Dane!

It is always a temptation for a rich and lazy nation,
To puff and look important and to say: —
“Though we know we should defeat you, we have not the time to meet you.
We will therefore pay you cash to go away.”

And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But we’ve proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.

It is wrong to put temptation in the path of any nation,
For fear they should succumb and go astray;
So, when you are requested to pay up or be molested,
You will find it better policy to say: —

“We never pay any-one Dane-geld,
No matter how trifling the cost;
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
And the nation that pays it is lost!”

Who, pray tell, is the modern Dane’s?  We currently call them Black Lives Matter (BLM), Antifa, illegal immigrants, and other extremist (Politically Left and Right) or militant factions in American society.  We call them ISIS; we call them terrorists.  For terrorists, they are, and “terrorist” has history called them from day one.  Requiring a fearsome reputation for violence, these people come to disrupt civil society, damage business, destroy goods, and wreak untold havoc and destruction.

Mayors, Governors, County Boards, elected officials of all types, you have a choice, either pay the Dane his pound of gold or fight the terror in civil society and be remembered.  During the continual riots, America witnessed the mayor in Philadelphia give up entire city blocks for her city’s Dane’s to destroy.  The Dane’s were not appeased; they moved in and controlled larger sections of the city than ever before.  Seattle’s mayor paid the Dane’s and has become the laughingstock of America over CHAZ/CHOP.  Portland, Minneapolis, Detroit, Chicago, and so many other cities across America have bent the knee, paid the gold, and will never be rid of the Dane.

Boris & NatashaYou can try and appease a mob, or you can fight a mob.  These are your only two options.  There is no third selection possible, for the mob, you fear today will be your rulers in captivity tomorrow.  Ask the city of Philadelphia if they like their new rulers.  Ask the community of Watts in LA if they wanted their rulers after the LA Riots.  You can break a mob into individuals and hold them accountable, or you can try to pay off a mob, but you cannot do both, and you will lose short-term and win long when you act against the mob.  Better to lose short term and win, then appease and lose everything short-term and long-term to the rule of a mob.

For those city councils crying to appease the mob by defunding the police, I would suggest that you would take a hard look at the closing stanza from Kipling.

“We never pay any-one Dane-geld,
  No matter how trifling the cost;
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
  And the nation that pays it is lost!

If you replace the term “nation” with city and county, you will understand the stakes you are gambling on currently.  I cannot stress enough the need for you to rise, put some backbone on, tie on your work boots, and go to war against the powers of oppression and tyranny.  Call in the National Guard and the State Militias, we “the sheepdogs of war” will respond.  Do not allow America to fall on your watch because you think paying Dane-Geld is easier and more respectable.  For I promise you, if you do not stand against the tyrants today, the rest of America will have to stand against a stronger and more virulent tyrant tomorrow!

How does a person recognize Dane-Geld being paid?

Look closely at legislation. Do you see payments to a foreign body? Do you see payments to specific groups? Do you see support for the legislation being purchased through pork-barrel spending?  If any of these questions are answered positively, Dane-Geld is being paid by your politicians.

What about local politics and Dane-Geld?

For example, the school board is spending money on new technology, a new program, or a new model, ask who on the school board is receiving benefits, and you will find those paying Dane-Geld to the detriment of the students and the taxpayers.  Albuquerque Public Schools is the school board in Albuquerque, the largest school district in the state.  Purchased a new program, supposed to be the “Golden-Bullet” for improving student success.  It turned out to be a multi-million dollar flop.  The fallout is still happening.  This is not the first time this has occurred, probably will not be the last, but the Dane’s were paid!

Image - Eagle & FlagThe mobs, the rioters, and the looters currently rampaging across America are domestic terrorists.  Please make no mistake; their sole aim is to destroy your town, city, county, state, and country!  Quoting from President Roosevelt, “We, too, born to freedom, and believing in freedom, are willing to fight to maintain freedom. We, and all others who believe as deeply as we do, would rather die on our feet than live [life] on our knees.”

Join us, ye politicians, who tremble!
